Scrapbooking: Kate

Somehow I managed another layout. Two in two weeks, there must be something wrong with me! This layout is another one in my ‘grateful’ series of layouts. Actually I am really enjoying the focus of these layouts. For this layout, I found a colour combination on Pinterest that I adored and I decided to use that to complete this layout.

Yeah, I know it’s a little different as I added the yellow and my colours aren’t so pastel, but I tried. I guess I am just not that good at sticking to criteria! And if you’re in the market for a colour combo, I suggest you check out this site: Design Seeds. They have the most awesome palettes!

You know, I have been looking more and more at using buttons on my layouts. Not just because I like them, but because I have so many of them. I have been thinking of ways to whittle down the stash, I have seen some beautiful button crafts on Pinterest which I might have a go at.

Another book review: The Miracle of Grace by Kate Kerrigan. I picked this book up at Basement Books the other week for just a couple of dollars. Can I just say, that it scares me a little that this place is so close to my work. Anyway, so I did judge this book by it’s cover, that’s why I bought it, it looked like a nice story just from the cover. I was surprised in that I actually really, really liked it. I liked the way it was written, the writing was easy and flowing. The story was sad-ish, but not unrealistic. It didn’t take long to finish as I was really absorbed in it.

Well, I guess that’s it from me today. Steve has gone go karting so it’s me and the kids vs the world today. I am loving the weather, except for it being a little smoky, but thinking about being outside to make some more granny squares for the afghan I am making, would be a marvelous way to spend the day.
