Sewing: 501 Quilt Blocks so far

So I decided to lay out all the little teeny tiny blocks I've made to see how big it is.

It's not very big.

Only 80cms on the long side.

I'm beginning to feel like I'm going to have to make all 501 blocks in order just to make a lap blanket.

Seeing it all lined up, kind of makes it worthwhile. I think it's going to look beautiful once it's done.

Scrapbooking: My Heart is Full

So I may have gone back to Spotlight and bought the Maggie Holmes Open House Project Life core kit for $10 as well. Who wouldn't?! So now I have even more cards to use up.

Ok, so I only used three cards this time too, but I used a super old Kaisercraft rubon, so that should count for something, right?!

Sewing: 501 Quilt Blocks Week 35

This block is called Corn and Beans.

I wonder if they mean green beans or baked beans? Right now after being on Michelle Bridges 12WBT for 10 weeks, I am a little over both types!

Day to Day: Junee Roundhouse Museum

I love being a tourist in my own town. I've been to the Junee Roundhouse Museum a couple of times now. I've taken both my sisters here on separate occasions. Maybe that's because I'm projecting my likes onto them, or something like that.

It is still a working roundhouse and locos are still serviced there.

The volunteers and staff are really friendly and are always up for a chat. On one occasion they even let us in to look at the old buses.

They have a model railway too, but I don't have any decent photos of that.

The size of the locos and carriages is quite amazing, you don't really get how big they are until you're standing right next to them.

And this is the best I could do for catching a nice snap of the actual turntable. Sorry about the angle, but I didn't have a tripod so I was leaning my camera against a fence.

It brings back many memories of catching trains to and from high school. A real favourite was on the very rare occasion, we would get a red rattler. We would always put our feet in the doors to keep them open during summer.

They also have carriages from the 'Fish' and 'Chips' which my grandfather used to catch to and from work.

I do have an appreciation of old stuff and trains, so I quite like visiting the Roundhouse.

Scrapbooking: Paint

I was at Spotlight and I'd been looking at getting a Fine and Dandy Project Life core kit for a while and I saw it on clearance for $20, so I grabbed it. I get to the checkout and they took another 50% off clearance items so I ended up getting a full core kit for $10. Bargain.

So now I have this kit and a massive amount of cards. I decided to use some up by using them on a layout instead of just in my PL album.

Ok, so I only used three, but it's a start, right?

Sewing: 501 Quilt Blocks Week 34

This week is brought to you by the Amish Diamond.

Nope, still no better with the points. Oh well, in the overall scheme of things, I don't really care.

Scrapbooking: Lucky

I haven't scrapbooked in what feels like ages. Needless to say, it was a real struggle to get going. So then in the end, I cut the background down to 8.5x11 and it seemed a lot more manageable.

Hmm, I probably should have used a ruler when gluing the journalling down.

Sewing: 501 Quilt Blocks Week 33

Another week, another block to share.

This week is the Turn About Variation.

This was an easy block to make and yet none of my points match! Oh well, I'll try a bit harder on the next one.
