With the rush to get challenge layouts up before deadline, I missed a couple of ones in between. Not that it matters, I guess, if they are in order of creation or not.

I made this layout a bit ago, but it was boring and I wasn't happy with it. So I decided to chop it up and add extra stuff to it. Works for me!

And then it took me a couple of goes to get it photographed properly. I kept getting terrible glare off the photo because it's quite dark. Then I worked out that whole how to photograph a layout thing. It's only taken 10+ years.

What can I say, I'm a trial and lots of error type of girl.

Well, I must hit the hay. I'm up early for a bike ride. I've got a tri in 8 months to prepare for!

Wait! What?! Another layout?!

I know! I created two layouts this weekend! I can barely believe it myself!

This one was created for Creative Scrappers sketch #713.

It looks nothing like the sketch, but once I started, I was on a roll and I was not stopping!

Still absolutely loving the Cameo. Lots of cutting happening on this layout: the background chevron which I then managed to cover most of it up, the title and the arrows up the top and down the bottom.

And I even used green cardstock! There must have been something amiss in my tea!

She amazes me.

Our eldest who turned 12 this year.

She is the quiet introvert with hardly a photo taken without a scowl on her face nowadays.

Kate can work a computer like it's nobody's business. Touch type faster than me!

She found Photoshop on the computer the kids inherited.

She's been having a bit of a play around with it and this is one of the things she has created.

Quote credits to Dr Suess, because Kate thinks he has pretty good quotes.

Now I have to get her to teach me...

White + Pastel + Masking

I did indeed buy a 60 pack of white American Crafts cardstock. Let me tell you, that's a bucket load of white card!

What's one to do with it? Check out White With 1 challenge blog, that's what!

I thought the August challenge shouldn't be too hard, pastel colours and masking.

I cut the hearts out on the cameo and used it as a mask and I inked the insides of the hearts. Then some crazy thing took hold of me and I thought that I would hand sew around the edge of the heart. Let's just say, it was boring, took ages and hurt my fingers. And I won't be hurrying back to do that anytime soon. Secretly I like the way it looks, but I'm lazy all about the easy way to do things.

And well, this is my layout:

And yes, I did copy myself with the pink around the outside from a couple of layouts ago. I liked the effect and it was boring with nothing around it, so why not?

What a nice way to spend a Friday night/Saturday morning. :)

Yes, I hugged it.

A couple of months ago I bought a pack of Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic diecuts and there was a really sweet word one: Story. And I really wanted to use it but I couldn't bring myself to part with it.

So what does one do?

Well, probably not what what I did.

Ohhh yeah.

And I had no idea what to do with it, beyond cutting out that one word.

So I have since had a play around with it and created this layout, yep, using the gorgeous Pier range again.

Will there ever be a need to purchase another set of Thickers or alphabet stickers?! Yeah, probably.

Stuck again.

I started this layout last week when I went to Delights all day crop. I took the August 1st Stuck?! sketch with me and got to work.

I know, it differs a little, some bits are backwards, but it's all good. It's done. That's all that matters to me.

Now to have a look at the August 5th sketch, I think these sketches are making my creative brain lazy, but I love what I'm creating so who cares!!!

On the weekend I tidied all the books and albums on my new bookshelf. I took the opportunity to go back and look through all my old albums. You know, I really enjoy looking back on my family's memories. Looking at the kids growing and remembering all the things we've done.

Scrapbooking makes my heart happy.

Mini albums.

Please don't get disappointed if you happened to come this way and expect to see a mini album. I don't do them. Along with other off-the-page projects. For whatever reasons, they are just not me.

So you can imagine my absolute delight when I won Scrapbooking Memories Masters and with it, oh, about 10  mini albums.

I needed to find a way to use these suckers up.

So I started taking the pages out and using them on my layouts.

For this layout I thought to myself I am going to go through my stuff and find something really daggy to scrap with. Something old and that I hadn't seen in a while (the type of things other hoarders have in their stash.)

And this is what I came up with:

I know right, that cat shaped Meow licence plate is awesome. I bet you wish you had one too. And those Prima Got Flowers? I still have over a bottle here to get through. Sequined Queen&Co flowers, well, all that's back in again, anyway. And there, one page out of a canvas mini album. Feeling pretty fine using up old stuff. Yes, I am.

2 months down, 1 to go.

I love Winter. Flannelette pyjamas, hot chocolates, tracksuit pants, not having to shave my legs. There's so many good things about Winter. Even the daily temperatures make me appreciate the other seasons more.

Especially as a kid. Summertime. With a sprinkler. Is there anything better?

I created this layout while I was at that retreat I mentioned a couple of posts ago. This was for a 1 hour challenge. And yep, Sarah and I rocked our layouts and we came equal first! Thanks Kim for picking our layouts!

I must say, I am going to be quite sad if I ever finish my Pier paper pad. I love the muted colours and the tones are so easy to scrap with.

In other news, 4 weeks ago I started a new job. Well, new corporation, kind of same job. I must say, it's quite fun to be able to say I play with trains all day. So I've been away at Junee for the past 4 weeks doing some training. I've been coming home on weekends. I must say, I breathed a sigh of relief every time I walked through my front door. There's just something about home that can't be replaced. So now, I'm back based in Sydney and I can't be happier! (Unless I win lotto or something like that!) :)

And now I'm home, I'm off to scrap the day away with some fantastic friends I have met through scrapbooking. Look out Delights, I'm about to get ready and come on down to Dapto!
