The week that was.

Well, a little more than a week. I don't feel as though I have had a moment to rest this week. There's some big news in the Jarrett household. Mr Jarrett, after almost 12 years, has resigned from his job. He is moving on to do the same role just within another company. I'm happy because he wasn't happy.

Steve and I participated in the Spring Cycle last weekend. We completed the Classic Ride which is a 50km ride starting at North Sydney and finishing at Olympic Park. Here's a photo of us before the ride:

There is no after photo. :( But we pretty much looked the same, just maybe a little bit redder in the face. It was really nice to go out and do something like this with Steve. And bike riding over the Harbour Bridge was pretty amazing.

And now for a layout. This layout was for one of the Master Galleries in Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. It uses Darkroom Door products.

I know I've scrapped this photo before, and as a general rule, I don't scrap the same photo twice, but it is one of my absolute favourites of Amy as a baby.

And here's a just because photo of our home grown, delicious strawberries:

So while I sit here

wondering whether or not I need to change out of my tracksuit pants to go and get my eyebrows waxed, I thought I would write up a blog post. There is no choice but to go out to get them done, I am starting to look angry even when I am not. I am starting to frighten even myself.

The other week I went to the library with Sarah. The same day we found those amazing cotton spools. Anyway, browsing the crafty book section, I happened to come across this book:

If you haven't seen it before, I suggest you look out for it. It is absolutely amazing! The work involved in the paper cutting craft is just mind blowing. (I had to google another word for amazing, I didn't want to use the same word twice in two sentences!)

So of course I thought, I can do that.

Two things:
1. I am not a good drawer. At all.
2. I am not very imaginative when I do try to draw.

Doesn't bode very well, but nothing like a bit of Pinterest inspiration to help me along.

I needed a saying. So I chose this poster:

And proceeded to make this:

And I must say, it made the millions of ads after every single song on X-Factor, go much faster! I am thinking I might still chuck it in one of my scrapbook albums, as opposed to the bin. It's very dodgy, rubbed out pencil everywhere, but it's ok for a first attempt. Especially with my artistic deficiencies. :)

Here comes another one

just like the other ones. A random posting of random things.

How about a layout share? This was my first layout I did for my Master's contribution. It was a pack from Stamp-It. It included some shaped Bazzill chips, an ink dauber in green, an ink pad in brown, some Bazzill cardstock white, brown, red and bright orange, and a stamp set. I am not much of a stamper. I am not very imaginative with inks and the like. In short, I had no idea what to do with the product. I ended up coming up with this:

Not wonderful, but done.

Onto some Little Athletics results from last night. Yes, I call it Little Athletics. I've never really grown up.

100m            16.4 sec
400m            1min 22.8sec
1500m          6min 42sec
3000m          15min 20sec
Discus           16.43metres
Long Jump    2.87metres

Not as sore today as I have been the last couple of weeks, which is fantastic. So in order to fix that, I went or a 2km swim. Of course.

And some of my October Photo a Day photos:
Day 2. Lunch. I have some tough decisions to make each day. One of them is which piece of fruit to have at lunch and which piece for afternoon tea. Tough, I tell you!

Then there was Day 3. This happened today. A pass the footy comp at work to raise money for the social club for our Christmas party.

Day 4. What you read. I don't read the MX, I only do the Sudoku. And it annoys me when I can get the expert puzzle out but not the novice.

Long Weekend-ing

What a spectacular long weekend. The weather has been good, nice cool nights which make sleeping so comfortable. Gorgeous sunny days which aren't too hot yet. That wind though, it can go and get lost.

This month I am going to continue the Photo a Day Challenge hosted by Fat Mum Slim. Here is the next months prompts:

The final day in September was: You, Then. I took this photo at the pool after my training buddy Jacqui and I went and did some laps in preparation of our triathlon.

Onto October: Day 1. Where You Stood. Well after Emily's birthday party at Nurragingy Reserve, we thought we would seek out a geocache. We found one within the park grounds and set about finding it. Here's us. Well, Luke and Amy, retrieving the cache. And where was I? Standing next to a swampy body of water being attacked by mozzies. But it's all in the name of fun, right?

And because I love Pinterest, I thought I might share one of my favourites:

Sorry, no source info was on this, so if it's yours, let me know!
